Bio

Chuck “Da Fonk” Fishman is a music technology strategist at Music Data Pro and a musical artist within the group FSQ (Soul Clap Records). He began his career in music as a touring and recording member of George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic (P-Funk). His mother told him to get a “real job” so he briefly left music, entering the world of media production, as a co-founder and producer at CNET Radio and later The Wall Street Journal Radio Network. Frustrated with the lack of technology for content producers, he left broadcasting and jumped into the world of digital media, landing roles at tech titans Cisco, Acquia, Official.fm, and Gracenote. Today, Chuck is an artist advocate working on music marketing strategy with Soul Clap, and his old friends George Clinton & P-Funk. He recently wrote the “Guide To Releasing Music” for UK audio equipment maker Focusrite.

Supporting Cause:

Music & Arts Education

I care deeply about enabling artists to reach, grow, engage and monetize their fan bases while side stepping the typical music industry nonsense and BS. I hope to share my knowledge on the following topics with young, talented and emerging artists: copyright, publishing, music metadata, distribution, e-commerce, streaming, artist marketing and analytics, and of course music production.
